WGARS Summer Plans

WGARS had a great meeting in July. Many thanks to Mark, AE4LW for speaking to us about Mesh Core. This is a technology that continues to grow in our area. With this new knowledge I suspect there will be some additional WGARS members jumping on the bandwagon.
ARRL Field Day was an enormous success. The club operated QRP raking in a large number of contacts. We were also very blessed with Nathan K4NHK setting up a satellite station successfully working several stations.
Balloon Launch – an upcoming weather balloon launch is scheduled for Saturday July 25, 2026. Weather permitting we will launch from the Oak Mountain Pavillion in Carrollton, Georgia (1840 Stripling Chapel Road) at 10:00 a.m.. If you miss the launch, don’t miss the chase!
The August schedule for WGARS has some antenna testing tentatively scheduled after our breakfast on Saturday August 15, 2026. Stay tuned for more info.
